Compassionate and Sustainable House Clearances: Helping Families, Supporting Communities

At NuGen, we understand that house clearances can be an emotional and challenging task. Often, we work with grieving families, individuals forced to sell their family homes to cover care costs, or even situations where no family is present, and we are liaising with a solicitor or lawyer. Regardless of the circumstances, we always perform our duties with the utmost dignity and respect.

Our Commitment to a Pain-Free Process

Our primary goal is to make the house clearance process as pain-free as possible. As a business, we are committed to sustainability. We never take items to landfill, and recycling is our last resort. Instead, we focus on donating, upcycling, or transferring items to our sister company, The Salvage Yard.

Supporting Community Projects and Charities

We collaborate with various community projects, housing associations, and charities to ensure that anything that can be rehomed is given a new lease on life. This often helps to ease the grief or sadness of family members, knowing their loved one’s belongings are going to those in need rather than being discarded.

Going the Extra Mile

When keys are handed over to us by solicitors, lawyers, or housing associations—often in cases where no family is present—we feel it is our duty to ensure that the homeowner or tenant is not forgotten. Our teams go the extra mile to save what we can, ensuring that furniture and items are donated to charities or housing associations, or moved to our salvage yard. Clothes are donated to charities, and food is delivered to food banks in desperate need.

Personal Experience Inspiring Our Mission

NuGen was born out of personal sad circumstances for founder Andrew Irvine, but we exist and grow daily to help others in similar situations. Through personal experience, we know how invaluable a company like ours can be during times of grief and time constraints. Knowing that the clearance is sustainable and ethical can ease a lot of guilt and worry.

Helping Others While Supporting Communities

We take pride in helping families and individuals overwhelmed by their situations. In turn, they are supporting communities, charities, and individuals who need a little help. Our privileged position allows us to ease the burden of clearing a house while ensuring the best use of the items we clear.

Expanding Our Network and Reducing Waste

Since our inception, we have reduced our recycling by over 45%, meaning more possessions, furniture, and items find new homes, helping those in need and encouraging repurposing over recycling. Our growing network of contacts is amazing, showcasing what people can use, repurpose, and create.

Becoming the Go-To Company for Clearance Work

Our aim is to be the go to company for clearance work. Our vehicles visit recycling facilities across Scotland daily, and it saddens us to see the amount of clothing, food, and furniture simply tossed in piles for recycling. We strive to reuse and repurpose over recycling because while recycling is great, why recycle when we don’t have to?
